- Synopsis
- After his performance at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing in 2008, Michael Phelps was left towering over every other swimmer - and perhaps every other athlete - in history. In his brilliant career, he has broken over 30 world records (so far) in various styles. Going back to the prior Olympic games in Athens in 2004, Phelps has won thirteen straight gold medals. Phelps will look to extend this streak when the games go to London in 2012. If he were to win three or more medals there, he would break the all-time record of 18 total medals for one Olympian.
