- Synopsis
- Most interventions to improve performance in business are at the organizational or process level, but it doesn't have to be that way. Individual capabilities can also be improved. Ultimately, knowledge worker performance comes down to the behaviors of individual knowledge workers. If we improve their abilities to create, acquire, process and use knowledge, we are likely to improve the performance of the processes they work on and the organization they work for. This chapter discusses different approaches to helping knowledge workers develop the capabilities they need to succeed. This chapter is excerpted from "Thinking for a Living: How to Get Better Performance and Results from Knowledge Workers."
