This is an absolutely delightful story. I'd read it as a teenager, but coming back to it as an adult made it much more insightful. Christy grapples with questions of faith with no easy answers, and she gets to meet a lot of interesting characters along the way. The romance is sweet but subtle, and in the end I closed the book with a smile on my face. If you like historical novels, check this one out. It's religious but not too preachy, and I dare you not to fall in love with the kids Christy teaches.
