- Synopsis
- Sir Author Connan Doyle created Sherlock Holmes, a fictional detective, known for his ability to crack the most difficult cases. Holmes first featured in Doyle's works in 1887 and now there are four novels and 56 short stories that revolve around his case-solving abilities. Dr. John H. Watson is a good friend of the London-based detective and narrates nearly all stories about Holmes. Holmes's popularity began to increase greatly with the publishing of the first batch of short stories in the Strand Magazine.
