- Synopsis
- The novel aim of this book is to illustrate the MR imaging features ofthe fetal and the neonatal brain by matching prenatal and postnatal images fora wide range of neurological abnormalities. The focus is on both conventionaland advanced MR imaging techniques, including high-resolution MR autopsy of thefetal brain. During the past ten years, neuroradiological evaluation of the neonataland the prenatal brain has advanced tremendously. However, even though they areintrinsically related, these two critical stages in brain development areusually studied and presented separately. In order to have a soundunderstanding of neonatal brain diseases, detailed knowledge of prenatal brainpathology is immensely helpful; conversely, knowledge of neonatal brain diseaseis a prerequisite for understanding many fetal brain lesions. Written by expertsin the field, Perinatal Neuroradiology will be of value for neuroradiologistsand pediatric radiologists, as well as obstetricians and neonatologists.
