- Synopsis
- In all traditions, humans have always expressed themselves in one way or the other. This expression has always been of joy, sorrow, excitement, shock, horror and so on. In the domain of entertainment and leisure, people have always created stories and songs and other artistic and on-artistic forms of amusement. In this book, we have human-animal tales, which is a class of narratives involving both human and animals in the central action of the narrative. The personified animals in this case act side by side the humans, taking and carrying out daily activities as the plot unveils. The stories explore the known and the unknown in a bid to explain, entertain and teach moral values, which are ideal in the modern society for the younger generation. The stories in The lost Hat and Other Stories are tales which I have heard at one time or the other and I have retold them to make them more interesting. After each and every story, there is a set of questions, which help the reader to understand and analyze the text better.
