- Encuentro en Telgte es una parábola directa. No intelectual, sin embargo. El Premio Nobel de Literatura Günter Grass logra un fresco vital, barroco, popular, con la rotundidad de un cuadro de Brueghel y la precisión lingüística de Cervantes. En 1947, recién terminada la Segunda Guerra Mundial, escritores de las dos Alemanias se reúnen en Telgte para reflexionar sobre la función del escritor en un país dividido y con un idioma que ha perdido su naturaleza, impregnado de violencia tras varios lustros de nazismo. El proyecto tiene antecedentes. Trescientos años antes, tras la Guerra de los Treinta Años, Alemania es un país devastado y dividido, con un idioma indefinido aún y avasallado por la influencia de los invasores. Encuentro en Telgte es quizá una novela picaresca, pero sobre todo es una novela ejemplar dentro de la obra del autor.
