"You two have had a lot of Christmas Eves together," said Mike Reese, Ashleigh's husband. Ashleigh smiled. "You're not kidding. This is our twelfth one. I can hardly believe it." Ashleigh glanced around at all of her beloved horses in the nearby stalls of the mares' barn at Whitebrook Farm, the training and breeding farm that Ashleigh, Mike, and Mike's father, Gene Reese, owned outside of Lexington, Kentucky. When Ashleigh was a little girl, she and her parents had started the tradition of giving all the horses special treats on Christmas Eve.
