- Synopsis
- AgrÃcola is a tribute to an admired father-in-law, whose greatest accomplishment was his role in the Roman conquest of Britain, and Germania is a description of the peoples who lived beyond the Rhine and the upper Danube, the boundaries of the Roman empire in western Europe. These two short works, dating to AD 97-81 were the first historically oriented compositions of Tacitus, who would go on to become one of the greatest historians of ancient Rome.
