- Synopsis
-
Christianity has a problem. If God is all-powerful, why doesn't He stop evil? If God is good, why isn't His creation good? Hurled in the face of His followers for centuries, we have yet to formulate a cogent response. Many are the excuses which we have put forth without an adequate explanation. This is my attempt.
Rather than dragging out the explanations hoary with age, I find that evil has purpose, a purpose which is pure and to which all will ultimately bow in gratitude at the revelation of His goodness, power, grace and wisdom. It is not that evil is good, but that it accomplishes good ends for us individually and corporately.
Good prevails. Evil quails and yields to good, having accomplished the purpose for which it was lovingly and thoughtfully created.
