- Synopsis
- For New Orleans antique dealer Kay Emory, a brief business jaunt to London's prestigious Durand Galleries had seemed a pleasant enough trip. But then she was caught shoplifting in one of London's most elegant department stores. And only hours later, found falling-down drunk in the hotel bar. Kay Emory had inherited an unexpected and dangerous legacy - a heritage of betrayal and treachery that had once come close to costing her life as an undercover sabotage agent in France. Kay only knew that she couldn't go to the police with her story. Instinct told her that perhaps this whole epi sode was a frame-up connected with her wartime years, yet she wondered what in her past she could have left behind. Any number of people might have wanted her out of the way - but one man, she discovers, stands to gain the most, and he was already moving in to settle accounts....
