- Synopsis
- The libertine life of the future Duke of Rutland ends when he's defeated in an honor duel with a cheated husband. Embarassed for the aftermath of the challenge, he decides to abandon London and leave to Haddon Hall, the peaceful place where he grew up, hoping to find peace that he so urgently needs; however, the arrival of an unexpected news alters that calmness and provokes the Duke to get drunk. In spite of the advice of his relatives, he decides to ride his horse and gallop through his dominions. When he opens his eyes after an unfortunate fall, he discovers that a woman has been caring for him somewhere remote and hidden from his lands. Her name, Beatrice, and her only desire, to live in solitude for the rest of her life.
