- "Las Mil y Una Noches" representativa de la más reconocida literatura oriental, es una obra que ha influenciado enormemente en las literaturas del mundo occidental, pues constituye una riquísima fuente de cuentos, leyendas e historias fantásticas, que han sido objeto de estudio de grandes escritores, como en el Libro del Conde Lucanor, o más hacia estos tiempos, en Jorge Luis Borges. También es notoria la influencia en la literatura infantil, para la que se han adaptado relatos de la obra. Si bien la obra es una serie de cuentos e historias hindúes, persas, abisinios, egipcios, todo tiene una estructura que le da unidad a esta extensa obra, mediante quien relata, la hija del visir, Schehrazada, la narradora que debe mantener siempre vivo el interés del cruel sultán, y así con su creatividad, astucia, sabiduría, lograr salvar su vida hasta la noche siguente, en que continúa su relato.
