- Hay algo que me mira. No sé bien qué es. Pero es de fuego y está vivo. Por las noches se duerme entre los rescoldos. Y cuando amanece, hambriento me reclama: "palitos, dame palitos". Dios creó al hombre y vio que no todo estaba bien: le faltaba humor, ternura, optimismo. Entonces, para enmendar la plana (nadie es perfecto), envió a Chaplin, que no resultó suficiente. Así fue como, reiterando lo que en alguna otra oportunidad fue dicho: "a imagen y semejanza", "creced y multiplicaos", surgió el protagonista de esta historia. Fosforito es uno de esos enviados, y desde su hospital psiquiátrico inicia al lector en un viaje insólito a través de los territorios contiguos de la locura y la realidad, la alucinación y la fantasía, la crueldad y la ternura, el amor real y el imposible. En esta novela de alucinados, el autor despliega su forma particular de identificar las motivaciones de la conducta humana, de reivindicar la dignidad y de recordarnos, una y mil veces, para qué estamos vivos.
