- Synopsis
- "We come at life from different angles," says twelve-year-old Rosalee' Brigham, speaking of her relationship with her parents, and with most of the other folks in Arnold's Corners. "Folks here can hardly bear a mystery. They feel compelled to get to the bottom of everything, whether it is any of their business or not." And the mysteries are Rosalee's friends; a "hippie" stranger, a young mother, and a black classmate. Rosalee's loyalty to her interesting friends upsets the whole tight little Southern community and gets her and her family into--and out of--real trouble.
