Though a direct contradiction to circumstance, it's a timeless principle of Scripture- that in brokenness there's strength. From this framework comes God's view on "greatness" - that it's not just assumed as a birthright, or belongs only to the ages, but finds a home in us, as God calls us to be a cut above the rest. Brokenness attracts the mercies of God who raises up broken people to do big things and to become benefactors of blessings others only dream about.
