- Synopsis
- This is a true story. The strange and shocking events described really happened about three hundred years ago. They took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in a small farming community called Salem Village. In 1692, Salem Village was legally part of Salem Town, a busy port five miles to the east. To find Salem Village on a Massachusetts map today, look for the town of Danvers. That's the name Salem Village took when it became independent in 1752. The records of all that went on before and during the witchcraft trials are not complete. To this day, historians are still trying to piece together all the events and figure out how and why they happened.
