- Synopsis
- Thriller histórico en la línea de su novela anterior, El secreto del Dresden, esta vez con la Guerra del Pacífico como telón de fondo. En el desierto de Atacama descubren varios esqueletos de soldados chilenos muertos en la Guerra del Pacífico. Uno lleva una alforja con los restos de un antiguo y extraño libro. Los sellos que tiene demuestran que es uno de los varios ejemplares perdidos de la Biblioteca de Lima, tomados como botín por Chile durante esa guerra. El ejemplar es llevado a Santiago para ser examinado por una especialista, pero su descubrimiento despierta más interés. Un destacamento especial del gobierno chino viaja a Chile en busca de ese extraño ejemplar, mientras que un grupo secreto formado por poderosos ultranacionalistas europeos y estadounidenses también inician la cacería de ese libro, pero para destruirlo. ¿La razón? Contiene las pistas para probar que el almirante chino Zheng He llegó a América casi un siglo antes que Colón. Hasta ahora, solo un mito, pero si se descubren las pruebas de ello y se revelan al mundo, el anuncio obligaría a reescribir la Historia.
