Up until about fifty years ago the men did the voting for the family and his vote was supposed to represent his wife's position as well as his own. In New Testament churches a woman was not allowed to be a pastor or teach men or usurp authority over men. And that leads to the serious question. Should a wife obey even her unsaved husband?
