- Synopsis
- Weldon's letters give a wider view of the time Austen lived in, the cultural norms and realities, and discusses being an author, types of literature, and spends time on many of Austen's novels. The BBC chose Weldon to write the screenplay for their 6 hour production of Pride and Prejudice, arguably the most faithful of all the various filmings of the story. Note: British spellings and punctuations. Typically use one apostrophe rather than the double, for quotation marks. No period after Mr and Mrs. Use of the British pound sign with money, etc. Some grammar differences, such as use of "shelve" where we would use "shelf".
