Choondal tells the story of an old man through his own thoughts. The beautiful imagery in the narration gives a feel of sharing the real moments with the old man, who set out for fishing with his choonda (fishing rod) while his only unmarried daughter (the only family) curses him, till he returns in the evening with a varal (a big fish). The curse and the thoughts generating from it is amazingly penned by Malayalam’s ever-loved story teller P Padmarajan.
