Synopsis: The woman at the shoreline on Laredo Beach is beautiful, naked, and dead. Horribly dead. Murdered by an unspeakable method that, to the trained eyes of the Santa Barbara police, has "psychopath"-and maybe even "serial killer' written all over it. That makes it a case for Detective Sergeant Eustes Tully, a beleaguered, middle-aged cop with an almost scary sixth sense for cracking homicides.
