I found this a very interesting book, and would recommend it to anyone that has an interest in WWII history. My father-in-law was also held until 1949 and when released came home to a new 4 year old daughter, my wife. She and an older sister had been transported with their mother from the SUDATENLAND TO WEST Germany. As I followed Major Knappe's military career it seemed like I was reading about my father-in-law.Great reading. So glad he made it to the land of big PXs.
