- El arcipreste escribió dos hagiografías: una Vida de San Isidoro y una Vida de San Ildefonso, así como la compilación histórica Atalaya de las crónicas y el Corbacho o Reprobación del amor mundano (1438), que se inspira en el Corbaccio de Giovanni Boccaccio. Esta obra, que es la más conocida, consta de cuatro partes. La primera es un tratado contra la lujuria; la segunda, una sátira contra las mujeres de toda condición; las dos últimas partes analizan las complexiones de los hombres y sus diferentes inclinaciones a amar. De esta obra interesan su estilo vivo, coloquial y popular, caracterizado por la constante bimembración o plurimembración, que pinta una imagen sumamente rica y vigorosa del tema que describe, así como sus notas costumbristas; sin embargo, también se utiliza en la parte doctrinal un lenguaje sumamente ampuloso y latinizado por el hipérbaton, los participios de presente y los cultismos. Asimismo, es frecuente el recurso a la similicadencia y la prosa rimada. Es este modelo de lenguaje a la vez popular e hiperculto el que tuvo presente el también manchego Fernando de Rojas para componer su Celestina.
