Synopsis: An Oakland, California, police detective suspects a heroin death was actually a homicide in this new crime thriller from the author of the DI Manx series. Catalina Gomez was seventeen, an A student, and a volunteer at a local nonprofit. When her body was found in the lake at an Oakland park, contaminated heroin was blamed—but Catalina had just one needle mark on her body. Could her first time shooting up have also been her last?
