Synopsis: Hiero, a priest and warrior, from a time thousands of years after a cataclysmic global war, has been sent out by his abbey to find artifacts called computers. The Unclean creatures that seek to destroy the only recently emerged new civilizatong are becoming just too numerous and powerful to keep track of without much better data management than just pen on paper. On his journey new friends and new enemies are found, obstacles, physical, mental, and spiritual are overcome. Yet none of these alone can assure the quest is successful. Luck also must play a hand.
