- This study addresses challenges posed in the Climate Research Committee's 1998 report, Capacity of US Climate Modeling to Support Climate Change Assessment Activities. It examines major types of climate modeling, describes the computational and human resources required to conduct climate modeling, quantitatively assesses the computational and human resources that are presently directed toward climate modeling, and describes ways in which the US climate modeling enterprise might be improved.
