- Synopsis
- Bookstore and pie shop owner Bertha Hannah has decided to take a break from her usual dessert pies and try something new. She has her sights set on baking up a savory pie to bring in the brunch crowd, but has no idea where to start. When she learns about a local class that teaches about cooking with wild herbs and spices, she signs right up-hoping to get some good ideas for the shop. Unfortunately, things don't always go as planned. Between a grumpy boyfriend, an annoying classmate, and a teacher who is more than a bit off-putting, Bert wonders if she'll even be able to finish the coursework at all. In a horrifying turn of events, Bert's teacher is found dead. Police declare it an accident, but Bert is convinced that there's something decidedly fishy going on. Will she be able to solve this case or will she find herself pushing up her own set of wild herbs sooner than she expects?
