Synopsis: This book provides a unique insight into contemporary curation and management in an innovative London-based gallery. Using a critical in-depth case study exploration of IMT art gallery’s ‘successes’ and ‘failures’, it illustrates and evaluates contemporary issues and challenges in curatorial initiatives and exhibition-making strategies. IMT operates as a ‘hybrid space’, combining characteristics of both the commercial gallery sector with non-profit artist-led or garage spaces while retaining affiliations to academic teaching and research.
