- Synopsis
- Young Bill Bailey steps into the boots of his father as a hunter, working for irascible Major Jessup, the owner of the Bar-L ranch. Bill must prove his skill in protecting the ranch from predators, including a rogue grizzly bear, wolves, cougar and more. Two-footed predators are on the prowl too, as cattle rustlers target the ranch. Aided throughout by his wolf-dog Misko and his black mustang Thor, Bill even has to free the ranch of a beautiful chestnut mustang stallion that is stealing the Major's prize mares. Set in the high country of the American West, and authored by award winning author Rutherford Montgomery, this is a book for all fans of Westerns.
