- Synopsis
- Using materials from archives, literature, and field research, this book chronicles the history of the evolution of Zhanqi Village in Sichuan Province over the 55 years from 1965 to 2020. It depicts the interplay between macro policy adjustments of the nation and the internal dynamics of the village over the half century. As China's policymakers increasingly focus on domestic inequality and the wealth disparity between rural and urban areas since entering the 21 century, this study offers valuable insights into the economic history and policy experiences for scholars in agrarian and rural development issues.
