I first heard of this book from Carmella herself. I was dealing with some career and relationship related issues so decided to read the book in the hope it would offer some insights. I did not quite get what I was looking for but I was hooked from the prolog. I could relate to her navigational challenges. The book starts with Carmela choosing her college (North Greenville) and then moves on to student life. Her blindness does play a significant role and parts of the book are very humorous especially her adventures with the vending machine. Other parts of the book though read like a soap opera but then I quickly realized that this was how things had happened. You get a sense of the different characters in the book especially of people like Scott. I wonder why he did not setup with his dream girl. Brian too is also an interesting personality as well as some of the other people in the book. I wish that this were also a talking book complete with sound effects. Scott's imitation of a pig during a concert would be most interesting to hear. If you are looking for an inspirational book this is not it. It shows a student discovering herself as she undergoes the college experience. Her blindness is secondary. Written by Pranav Lal.
