- Synopsis
- Interviewed by CNN for the television series "The Cold War," Cuban President Fidel Castro provided his perspective on the Cold War in a wide-ranging discussion. Castro offers a number of historical revelations in his discussion of the Cuban Revolution, relationships with the Soviet Union and the United States, the Cuban Missile Crisis, U.S.-Latin American relations as a whole, and the fall of the Soviet Union. Castro concludes that the United States won the Cold War at the expense of the Socialist Bloc and the third world, but that socialism will eventually triumph globally.
