- Synopsis
- Holly Beckman has arrived. At thirty- three, she is poised and assured, a loving mother to her son, comfortably married to Kennedy King, and deserving of her fame and respect as an international dealer in fine art. Suddenly things begin to go awry. First, she has a passionate and totally unex pected love affair with the American dancer Peter Freeman, who has become the darling of both Broadway and the West End. Then, her unscrupulous brother Ritchie returns from Al Capone's Chicago to set up a crime syndicate in London. At once he springs a cunning trap to implicate Holly in an ingenious international art fraud. When their older brother Maury steps in to try to help, he finds himself in love with Ritchie's near-prisoner wife, Ruth. In the end, the weight falls squarely on Holly. She must make a fateful decision about her marriage to Kennedy, while at the same time she must devise a stunning counter ruse of her own to thwart her gangster brother. In addition to the Beckman Saga and the Stalker Trilogy Bookshare has the Isle of Mull trilogy comprised of: #1 The Island Wife, #2 The Wind From The Hills and #3 The Strawberry Season, with more books by Jessica Stirling to be added.
