Synopsis: Shiloh took in a deep breath, let half of it out, and prepared to fire. But before the Winchester's hammer fell, another shot rang out from the hills. The fat buzzard exploded in a shower of feathers. "Hey, pardner! Nice shooting, eh?" came the cry from the rocks. "Yer next! Yer cain bet on it!" The yell startled Shiloh more than the slain bird. It drifted over the windless desert, reaching Shiloh as little more than a whisper. It was the first time he had heard the voice of either gunman. "Who are you?" he shouted back. "Why ya wanta know who we are? Yer a dead man!" Another shot exploded from the gunman, slamming harmlessly into the dead horse. "You hear, dead man? Yer dead as that horse!"
