- Synopsis
- Leon Trotsky is considered by many, alongside Lenin of course, as the author of the Russian Revolution, and is also considered by his admirers to be one of the most astute Marxist analysts of history and politics. It is perhaps no surprise therefore that his history of the Russian Revolution, first published in English in 1932, should be considered by those admirers to be his masterpiece, with Afro-Trindidadian writer C.L.R. James, once calling it "the greatest history of an event that I know." Trotsky's narrative of the revolution is told in the third person and is not a memoir.
