- Synopsis
- The Medal of Honor is a simple medal--just a five-pointed star hanging form a ribbon--but it has great meaning. It differs from all other medals in that it is the only U.S. military decoration worn around one's neck. President Theodore Roosevelt, a war veteran, longed form this medal, as did famed army general George S. Patton, who once said he would trade his "immortal soul" for one. It can only be presented by the president of the United States, in the name of Congress.
