- Nearly everyone knows the name Hershey. That's because Milton Hershey put his name on one of the most delicious foods in the world-chocolate. In the early 1900s, he invented a new recipe for milk chocolate. His five cent chocolate bars because a big business. But Milton Hershey wasn't always successful. The first few times he tried to sell candy, he failed. Still, Milton would not give up. He worked hard to invent delicious new recipes. He kept trying until his candy made him a wealthy man. Then he surprised everyone by give his money away.
