NKJV The Maxwell Leadership Bible: Lessons In Leadership From The Word Of God

by John Maxwell

The people, events, and teachings of the Bible are a treasury of wisdom and guidance for anyone who has been called to be a leader, to develop leaders, or to work with leaders-in church, business, commerce, or anyplace else. The Maxwell Leadership Bible shows us what God's Word has to say to people of all kinds about leaders and leadership. It's a Bible resource that explains book by book what a godly leader is, what leadership means, what empowering others is about, and how God is glorified when we're all involved in His leadership plan for us. Articles about the 21 Laws of Leadership in Scripture show us how these Laws are seen in the lives of Bible people. There are also articles about how the 21 Qualities of a Leader are shown in Scripture-in the cases of both those who got it right and those who got it wrong-and how people learned from their failures and became better leaders through God's redemptive process of education by experience. Executive Editor John C. Maxwell has assembled biblical teaching to equip and encourage leaders and those who serve with them, to meet 21st-century challenges by using the time-tested and irrefutable principles of leadership that God has shown us in the Bible.

NL ARMS Netherlands Annual Review of Military Studies 2019: Educating Officers: The Thinking Soldier - The NLDA and the Bologna Declaration (NL ARMS)

by Wim Klinkert Myriame Bollen Marenne Jansen Henk De Jong Eric-Hans Kramer Lisette Vos

This book has as its subject matter the academic education of officers and builds on the signing of the Bologna Declaration in 1999 by twenty-nine European ministers for Education and Science, who thereby agreed to coordinate higher education across Europe, by, for instance, the implementation of the Bachelor's and Master's system. In the meantime, military academies have also introduced the BaMa system into their programs for officers’ education, which marks a transition from the old days, when officers’ education took place within a national military system, under military command, and was firmly grounded in principles, traditions and needs, as professed by the Ministries of Defence and the armed forces in particular. So the Bologna Declaration can be seen as crucial leverage for the development of in-house academic degree programs as a fundamental part of officers’ education. With this volume, the editors of NL ARMS 2019 strive to offer a platform to both academics and military and civilian practitioners, as well as to combinations of these, to reflect and share their thoughts on officers’ education `before and after' Bologna, both in The Netherlands and abroad. To this end, controversies and challenges, affecting various aspects and systems of officers’ education, have been grouped into five themes. Respectively, the first four themes comprise institutional settings and change; educational philosophy; educational challenges and reflective practices; and didactical solutions. The fifth theme, international perspectives, provides insights into the strategic environments and challenges faced by sister-academies, as well as ways to further officers' education across Europe, such as offered by Erasmus programs. All the editors of this year's volume are affiliated with the Faculty of Military Sciences of the Netherlands Defence Academy in Breda, The Netherlands.

NLP In A Week: Master Neuro-Linguistic Programming In Seven Simple Steps

by Mo Shapiro

NLP just got easier NLP in a Week provides a dynamic collection of tools, techniques and strategies that can facilitate excellence in all aspects of your life. This book will help you communicate more effectively and develop your interactions by studying: - the way you access and disseminate information through the language you use - your perceptions and the values you hold It will also offer you the opportunity to consider the different ways people filter information, thereby enabling you to create greater rapport by using their preferred filters and experiencing the world from their perspective. You will be able to increase your understanding of others by utilizing NLP's precision questions for clarification and thereby extending your 'map of the world'. NLP is based on the idea that mind, body and language interact to create our individual perception of what happens around us and that these perceptions, and their accompanying behaviours, can be changed. Developers of NLP believe that happiness and success are the result of specific patterns of thinking that can be learned by anyone. The psychiatrist R. D. Laing said: 'Change your body, change your mind. Change your mind, change your body.' When your mind is working with you and is on your side then your body will follow. You can use NLP to make changes whenever you feel stuck, and your new 'position' will enable new action. Your mind is your internal powerhouse that steers your thoughts and subsequent actions. The messages and thoughts from your mind have a significant influence on the way you feel and the actions you take. What is in your mind affects your health and wellbeing. What you think is what you get. NLP helps you increase the messages that are 'good' for you and diminish those that aren't. By the end of the week you will be able to use NLP at work and in your personal life in a way that will sharpen your skills and boost your achievements. - Sunday: What is NLP? - Monday: Identify empowering and limiting beliefs - Tuesday: Recognize how we re-present information to ourselves - Wednesday: Use precision questions to find out what people mean - Thursday: Identify different communication filters - Friday: Use the six levels of change and reframing - Saturday: Increase your options

No Angel in the Classroom: Teaching Through Feminist Discourse

by Berenice Malka Fisher

No Angel in the Classroom: Teaching through Feminist Discourse presents a theoretically complex yet down-to-earth and personal account of feminist teaching in higher education. Starting with a nuanced interpretation of consciousness-raising, longtime feminist educator Berenice Malka Fisher develops her philosophy of feminist teaching as a form of political discourse. Through reflection on a series of candid classroom stories, she analyzes knotty problems faced by academics and activists. What counts as knowledge in discussion of feminist issues? Can teachers exercise authority without being authoritarian? What is the role of caring in political deliberation? Should safety be considered when students and teachers address volatile topics? How can feminist and other teachers committed to social justice give serious attention to the intersections of gender, race, and sexual orientation? This groundbreaking book is intended for the beginning and veteran teachers and others concerned with the contribution of education to extending social justice. Fisher's work offers a pedagogical vision that inspires both passion and critical thinking.
