For example, his meeting with Christopher Reeve inspired him to keep his faith in his cause. Morné du Plessis impressed the importance of civic leadership and courageous service on Ari. Ari also learnt that a life filled with integrity and dignity can be rewarding to self and others in your life sphere. In Afrikaans it can be said Ari learnt to appreciate the value of “lewe, belewe, uitlewe” (live, experience, contribute). He also developed a strong belief in the importance of truth, fairness, and goodwill in all friendships that he formed in his lifetime. This book describes a positive approach to living with dis-ease or disability and inspiring others in the process. Ari explains how he succeeded in converting his disability into this-ability that became all-of-his-ability. He also shares some of the valuable insights and lessons he has learnt from his involvement in numerous QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA)-related initiatives. Leaders and practitioners in the fields of medicine, psychology, sociology, public service, business and non-government organisation (NGOs) among many other fields, can gain many valuable insights and lessons from reading this book. This book is highly recommended for any person interested to learn about positive life-changing experiences.

by Kashinath Trivediबापूकी 'आत्मकथा' एक बड़ा ग्रंथ है। इस पुस्तकमें उसका सार तैयार किया गया है। ऐसा करते समय बापूके लेखन-क्रम, भाषा इत्यादिको प्रायः मूलके जैसा ही रखा गया है। केवल विषयको संक्षिप्त करने और सिलसिला जोड़नेके लिए कहीं-कहीं नयी भाषाका प्रयोग किया गया है। अतः सहज रूपसे यह कहा जा सकता है कि इस संक्षिप्त आत्मकथा' का ९९.९९ से भी अधिक भाग मूलका अवतरण ही है। इस 'संक्षिप्त आत्मकथा' को नये ढंगसे विभक्त किया गया है और कुछ अध्यायोंको उन विषयों के अनुरूप नये नाम दिये गये हैं। अध्यायों की गिनती प्रत्येक खण्डकी अलग-अलग न करके समूची पुस्तककी एक ही रखी गई है। बापूकी 'आत्मकथा' एक ऐसा ग्रंथ है, जो बापूको समझने में बहुत सहायक होता है। इसका संक्षिप्त संस्करण तैयार करनेका यह प्रयास इस अभिलाषासे किया गया है कि यह विशिष्ट व्यक्तियोंको और खासकर नयी पीढ़ीको बापूका अभ्यास करनेके लिए प्रेरित करे।

by أوشو د. علي الحدادمتى أدركنا معنى الشغف فلن يكون صعبا إدراك العطاء أو التسامح. فالشغف حالة جسدية مادية إنها خضوعك لسيطرة الجسد دون وعي للنتائج... تعني أنك لست سيد نفسك بل عبدا لانفعالك. التسامح يعني أنك تجاوزت حاجات الجسد وتخطيت كل الحواجز النفسية يعني إنك تحررت من عبودية الجسد وأصبحت سيد نفس. وهكذا صرت تتصرف بوعي غير خاضع لقوى خارجية هي تحدد قرارك. أنت الآن حر التصرف بكامل طاقتك وهكذا صار بمقدورك تحويل الشغف إلى عطاء. الشغف شهوة العطاء حب. الشغف رغبة العطاء انفتاح. الشغف طمع العطاء مشاركة. الشغف يدعوك لاستغلال الآخرين فيما العطاء يجبرك على احترامهم. الشغف يبقيك ملتصقا بالأرض يبقي قدميك غارقتين في الوحل وهكذا لن تصبح زهرة لوتس لا اليوم ولا غدا فيما العطاء يجعلك هذه الزهرة فيمنحك قوة النمو وتخطي طبقات التراب وتجاوز عالم الرغبات والطمع عالم الأنانية والغضب. العطاء تحول في مسار طاقتك. في الواقع أنت إنسان مقدس ينبعث مثل العطر غير أن الغضب يستهلك بعضا من طاقتك كذلك يفعل الطمع والشهوة أيضا ... هكذا تستهلك طاقتك سدى . الرغبات والشهوات تسيطر عليك تدمر قدراتك وطاقاتك وتبقيك إنسانا فارغا تافها . تذكر ما قال وليم بليك: «الطاقة هي البهجة» غير أنك استهلكت كل طاقاتك فكيف ستشعر بالبهجة والفرح أما حين تحسن استغلال طاقاتك فهذا يعني أن حياتك ستمتلىء بالفرح يعني أن فيضا من البهجة سينطلق منك. يعني أنك ستصبح بوذا آخر. إنما لن تصبح بوذا آخر إلا بعد اختبار معنى العطاء... إنه الحب الدافىء إنه مشاركة الآخرين الفرح والسرور. إنه إشراك الآخرين في وجودك أنت الآن مبارك ويمكنك منح الآخرين. هذا هو العطاء. الشغف لعنة والعطاء نعمة.
