Lennon and McCartney: Painting with Sound

Five decades after the breakup of the Beatles, the music of John Lennon and Paul McCartney continues to fascinate and inspire. Following on that idea, this book explores the creative dialogue between John Lennon and Paul McCartney, both with the Beatles and on their own, that grew out of that early influence. Section III. New Colours considers the final works of the Lennon and McCartney creative dialogue as well as various McCartney solo projects released in the years that followed Lennon’s death in 1980. Here, the focus is on Paul’s development as a painter, its effect on his creativity, and his subsequent efforts to establish the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts as a world-class arts conservatory.

Lernen am Arbeitsplatz im dualen Studium

Die Beliebtheit dualer Studienprogramme stieg in den vergangenen Jahren sukzessive an und ein Abflachen dieses Trends ist derzeit nicht erkennbar. Doch insbesondere zu den Lernprozessen am Arbeitsplatz sowie zu den Wirkungen der Praxisphasen ist forschungsseitig bislang wenig bekannt. An diesen Forschungsdesiderata setzt die vorliegende Monografie an: In einem Forschungsprojekt zwischen der Hochschule der Bundesagentur für Arbeit (HdBA) und der Universität Mannheim werden zwei Bachelorprogramme der HdBA in einem längsschnittlichen Forschungsdesign begleitet, um mehr über die Praxisphasen der Studierenden zu erfahren. Neben der Analyse verschiedener Merkmale der Lern- und Arbeitstätigkeiten liegt ein zentraler Fokus in dieser Arbeit auf der Untersuchung potenzieller Einflussfaktoren der Kompetenzentwicklung. Dabei werden einerseits die Häufigkeiten verschiedener Lern- und Arbeitstätigkeiten, andererseits diverse Merkmale der Lern- und Arbeitsbedingungen berücksichtigt. Die Befunde der Untersuchung dienen als Grundlage der abgeleiteten Implikationen und Empfehlungen für die Gestaltung von Praxisphasen in dualen Studiengängen.

In der medialen Berichterstattung wurde das finnische Schulsystem in den vergangenen Jahren häufig als Musterbeispiel für wichtige bildungspolitische Herausforderungen ins Spiel gebracht. Dies trifft besonders auf das Thema der inklusiven Beschulung zu. Während bisher wenige Studien das finnische „Bildungswunder“ ernsthaft hinterfragen, zielt dieses Buch auf eine objektive Darstellung der aktuellen Situation in Finnland ab. Dabei wird ein differenzierter und kritischer Blick auf die inklusive Beschulung in Finnland geworfen. Um dies zu erreichen, wird die inklusive Schul- und Unterrichtskultur mit Hilfe von qualitativen Forschungszugängen an ausgewählten finnischen Schulen untersucht. Die von Reich (2014) entwickelten Bausteine einer inklusiven Schule werden als Analysekriterien hinzugezogen. Basierend auf den Erkenntnissen dieser Untersuchung wird abschließend geprüft und diskutiert, was Deutschland (und andere Länder) im Hinblick auf das Thema Inklusion von Finnland lernen kann.

Lernende in der betrieblichen Grundbildung: Zur Rekonstruktion der Gründe für Lernwiderstände und Lernen gering literalisierter Beschäftigter
by Frank DrecollDie betriebliche oder „arbeitsplatzorientierte Grundbildung (AoG)“ ist ein noch junges Forschungsgebiet der wissenschaftlichen Erwachsenenbildung. Neuerdings wenden sich auch betriebliche Kursangebote an die „Bildungsverlierer“ unseres Schulsystems, die mit z.T. massiven Problemen die Haupt- oder Sonderschule verlassen. Diese qualitative Studie ist dem Bereich der subjektwissenschaftlichen Lernforschung zuzuordnen. Sie rekonstruiert die subjektiven Lernbegründungen der formal gering literalisierten Beschäftigten, wenn sie an Grundbildungskursen am Arbeitsplatz teilnehmen. Die Studie zeigt auf, dass erhebliche lernbiografisch begründete Widerstände überwunden werden müssen, um – eingebettet in Anerkennungsverhältnisse im Kurs – zu persönlich bedeutsamem produktivem Lernen vorzudringen. Zunächst sind Freiwilligkeit und Teilnehmendenorientierung in Kursen häufig in Frage gestellt. Mehr oder weniger reflektierte Lernwiderstände mit defensiven Lerngründen werden insofern vom Autor als subjektiv sinnvolle Handlungsstrategien verstanden. Als lebenslang tätiger Praktiker erläutert der Autor, wie die Resultate der Studie für eine gute Praxis betrieblicher Grundbildung genutzt werden können.
Lernförderliche Interaktion beim Peer-Learning in der Grundschule: Eine Mixed-Methods-Studie

Dafür wurden Wirkmechanismen zwischen individuellen sowie gruppenbezogenen Merkmalen, der Interaktion und dem Lernerfolg im Peer-Learning untersucht. Einem Mixed-Methods-Design folgend wurde zunächst mithilfe von qualitativ kodierenden Verfahren die Elaboration als ein zentrales Interaktionsmerkmal beim Peer-Learning operationalisiert. Anschließend wurde mithilfe von inferenzstatistischen Verfahren die Bedeutung von Elaboration für den Lernerfolg beim außerunterrichtlichen Peer-Learning zum Thema Rechenstrategien untersucht. Darüber hinaus wurde inferenzstatistisch geprüft, inwieweit individuelle und gruppenbezogene Merkmale mit dem Lernerfolg zusammenhängen, sowie inwiefern die Elaboration den Zusammenhang zwischen diesen Merkmalen und dem Lernerfolg mediiert.
