Lendas de Lemúria

by Scott Michael Decker J. G. Soares

Lenny Cyrus, School Virus

by Joe Schreiber Matt Smith

It seemed so logical at first. Fourteen-year-old Lenny Cyrus had loved Zooey Andrews since third grade. Told in three voices, this fantastical middle grade novel takes Lenny deep into Zooey's loud, splashing innards, where a talking astrovirus named Astro has a bad attitude about white blood cells ("self-righteous pus-bags") and aromatic hormones disco dance. The question is, will Lenny and Zooey survive his crazy experiment in nanotechnology? The worst part comes when Lenny inadvertently triggers an infection in Zooey's brain, and her whole body goes into lockdown. Can Lenny rescue Zooey before his time is up? Lenny Cyrus is determined to find his way into Zooey's heart. Literally.

The Lens of the World Trilogy: Lens of the World, King of the Dead, and The Belly of the Wolf (Lens of the World Trilogy #1)

by R. A. MacAvoy

The enchanting fantasy series by the John W. Campbell Award–winning author of Tea with the Black Dragon. Warrior, linguist, astronomer, philosopher, lens grinder, lord, dwarf—the name Nazhuret conjures many definitions. His story is not a simple one: The course of his history is a strange and winding tale filled with danger. All three novels in this epic saga about the outcast-turned-legend are collected in one incredible volume. Lens of the World: In this New York Times Notable Book, a tenacious orphan discovers his identity. Raised as both servant and student at the military Royal School of Sordaling, Nazhuret has been an outsider as long as he can recall. Yet, when he is taken in by a mysterious madman and educated in arts ranging from lens grinding to war, he sets on a path that will change the course of not only his own life, but the entire realm of Velonya. King of the Dead: Fate has offered Nazhuret the opportunity to rise above his status to a position of glory and wealth, but he would rather live quietly in obscurity with Arlin, the love of his life. Unfortunately, the secrets of his past cannot stay buried, and Nazhuret soon finds himself once again embroiled in the conflicts of the kingdom, fighting for his life and for the land he calls home. The Belly of the Wolf: In the twilight of his life, after a long respite from the tumultuous world of war and intrigue, Nazhuret embarks on one final adventure. Velonya is in chaos after the apparently unnatural death of Nazhuret&’s old friend, the king. Together with his daughter, Nazhuret must use his wisdom, courage, and talent to keep civil war from destroying everything he loves.

Lensman From Rigel

by David Kyle E. E. Smith

The second of three companion pieces to E.E. "Doc" Smith's magnificent space opera "The Lensmen" series, this novel follows the affairs of the non-human Second Stage Lensman Tregonsee, Director of Intelligence for the Galactic Patrol, as he faces many problems during the consolidation of Civilization in two galaxies after the (apparent) defeat of the evil empire Boskone. David Kyle was a personal friend of "Doc" Smith's, and received permission from the Smith estate to write three novels concerning the three non-human Lensmen that attained "second stage" status. Most of the characters from the original Lensmen epic are retained, and several new ones are added. Fans of The Lensmen series might find these companion novels disappointing, as they are not "clones" of the original. The writing style is not as "slam-bang" as Smith's, the characters have more depth, and the "science" part of the science fiction has been updated to the mid-70's. Nonetheless, they are a very enjoyable and highly competent addition to the Lensen universe.

Lent: A Novel of Many Returns

by Jo Walton

From Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award-winning Jo Walton comes Lent, a magical re-imagining of the man who remade fifteenth-century Florence—in all its astonishing strangenessYoung Girolamo’s life is a series of miracles. It’s a miracle that he can see demons, plain as day, and that he can cast them out with the force of his will. It’s a miracle that he’s friends with Pico della Mirandola, the Count of Concordia. It’s a miracle that when Girolamo visits the deathbed of Lorenzo “the Magnificent,” the dying Medici is wreathed in celestial light, a surprise to everyone, Lorenzo included. It’s a miracle that when Charles VIII of France invades northern Italy, Girolamo meets him in the field, and convinces him to not only spare Florence but also protect it. It’s a miracle than whenever Girolamo preaches, crowds swoon. It’s a miracle that, despite the Pope’s determination to bring young Girolamo to heel, he’s still on the loose…and, now, running Florence in all but name. That’s only the beginning. Because Girolamo Savanarola is not who—or what—he thinks he is. He will discover the truth about himself at the most startling possible time. And this will be only the beginning of his many lives."Rendered with Walton's usual power and beauty...It's this haunting character complexity that ultimately holds the reader captive to the tale." —N. K. Jemisin, New York Times, on My Real ChildrenAt the Publisher's request, this title is being sold without Digital Rights Management Software (DRM) applied.
