The Life Plan: How Any Man Can Achieve Lasting Health, Great Sex, and a Stronger, Leaner Body

by Jeffry S. Life

This guy is for real-- And he knows that it's never too late to transform your body It's very likely that you have seen Dr. Jeffry Life before. And if you have, you might have thought, How can this seventy-two-year-old doctor have the body of a thirty-year-old? But his photos are very real, and you can look just as good as he does when you take control of your health. Back in 1998, Dr. Life was sixty years old and a stereotype of the aging man: he was overweight with a noticeable gut and little muscle tone. Even though his own medical practice was thriving, and he thought he knew everything about men's health, the facts proved differently. His libido was low, which was ruining his self-esteem. He felt tired all the time, yet no amount of sleep made him feel well rested. It wasn't until a cardiologist read him the riot act that he even considered that change was possible. He then decided to make critical adjustments to his diet and lifestyle, and the results have been nothing short of astounding. More than a decade later, Dr. Life continues to look and feel younger than ever. He knows that if he can make these changes to his body, his sex life, and his health, any man can. In this revolutionary book, he'll show how you can turn around yourhealth by using the very same program he success-fully created and follows to this day. The Life Plan introduces a healthy aging lifestyle that any man can master, no matter what shape he may be in. It offers: * An action-packed exercise program designed to make working out entertaining as well as improve heart health and increase muscle mass. His program taps into various disciplines--cardio workouts, resistance training, balance and core conditioning, martial arts, and Pilates. * An easy diet, featuring delicious choices, that any man can follow, along with rules for eating out and sample recipes for the single or married guy. * A simple nutrient supplement regimen highlighting the top supplements men may need to halt, and even reverse, the aging process. * A prudent guide to male hormone replacement therapies based on the most up-to-date research. * Lessons on how to get your doctor to provide the care you deserve. * How to sidestep America's disease-based approach to medicine and fuel optimal health. * And much more. By following this program you can once again enjoy an active, clear-headed, sexually satisfying, vigorous, and health-filled life, while avoiding late-onset diabetes, heart disease, and other common illnesses and complaints of aging. For men seeking to make over their bodies and turn back the clock, The Life Plan delivers the keys to a fitter body, a stronger immune system, and a richer, fuller life.

The Life Swap

by Nancy Weber

In February of 1973, Nancy Weber put an ad in the Village Voice offering to trade places with another woman, a stranger, for a month. In hopes of better understanding what was fixed and final in each person--and what was invented, and therefore might be reinvented--they would use each other's names, live in each other's homes, love each other's loves, and do each other's work. After interviewing many of the fascinating women who answered the ad, Weber--single (with a longtime lover) and straight--chose a polyamorous, bisexual, married psychologist and academic, the pseudonymous Micki Wrangler. They spent five months getting ready for their adventure--cajoling their nearest and dearest into participating, exchanging thousands of details, and swapping deep secrets. But, instead of a month, their wild ride lasted only a week. Wrangler was having a rough time (and Weber too good a time, maybe) so they decided to call things off. Wanting The Life Swap to convey more than her own experience, Weber invited Wrangler and ten others to enrich the book with their uncensored reports. Publicity for the book included stints on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and To Tell the Truth. The book achieved a kind of cult status, in part because it's a relic of 1970s sexual openness (cruelly destroyed by HIV/AIDS) and belief in the right of self-invention. Recent critics have credited the book with inspiring life swap reality TV shows and several popular novels and films.

The Life of Elijah

by Arthur W. Pink

The life of Elijah has gripped the thought and imagination of preachers and writers in all ages. His sudden appearance out of complete obscurity, his dramatic interventions in the national history of Israel, his miracles, his departure from earth in a chariot of fire all serve to that end. 'He comes in like a tempest who went out like a whirlwind,' says Bishop Hall; 'the first that we hear from him is an oath and a threat'. Judgment and mercy were mingled throughout Elijah's astonishing career. It is fitting that the lessons which may be drawn from Elijah's ministry should be presented afresh to our generation. History repeats itself. The wickedness and idolatry rampant in Ahab's reign live on in our gross 20th century's profanities and corruptions. False prophets occupy large spheres of influence and truths dear to our evangelical forefathers have been downtrodden as the mire of the streets. A. W. Pink clearly felt called to the task of smiting the ungodliness of the age with the rod of God's anger while at the same time encouraging the faithful remnant. With these objects he undertakes the exposition of Elijah's ministry and applies it to the contemporary situation.

The Life of the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God: Taken From The Traditions Of The East, The Manners Of The Israelites And The Writings Of The Holy Fathers

by Abbé Mathieu Orsini

THIS book, received with such favour and indulgence by the public is not written through any vain desire of obtaining celebrity; it is a work of patience and of faith, a flower placed on the altar of Mary, with the simple heart of a pilgrim of the good old times. A better historian the Virgin undoubtedly deserved; but one more sincerely desirous to see her name glorified and her devotion extended she could not find. The history of the Queen of Angels, the mystical rose of the New Law, is a theme so poetical in itself that it naturally calls forth the most beautiful and refined ideas, as well as the most dignified expressions of language. It is an Oriental recital, reflecting the manners, the glories, and the sites of Asia; and so can it appear strange that the style should be impressed with an Eastern tint?
