Allerding sollte es auch eine Prüfung der beobachteten Sicherheit über alle Bauwerke geben. Deshalb werden in diesem Buch die Einsturzhäufigkeiten für verschiedene Bauwerkstypen, wie Brücken, Dämme, Tunnel, Stützbauwerke und Hochbauten, ermittelt. Die Einsturzhäufigkeit gehört wie die Versagenswahrscheinlichkeit zur Stochastik. Daher werden die beobachteten mittleren Einsturzhäufigkeiten und die berechneten mittleren Versagenswahrscheinlichkeiten verglichen.
