The Legends of Orkney: The Complete Trilogy

by Alane Adams

Experience the Legends of Orkney trilogy—the entire series all together for the first time. In The Red Sun, you&’ll be introduced to middle school student Sam Baron, who gets the shock of his life when a strange dwarf shows up with the claim that Sam is from a magical realm called Orkney. Then Sam&’s friends are taken prisoner, and he follows their captors to Orkney—embarking upon a journey to rescue his friends, uncover the truth about his past, and combat an ancient curse that threatens to destroy the land. In Kalifus Rising, it&’s Sam who&’s in trouble this time: Imprisoned by Catriona, leader of the Volgrim Witches, he finds the darker side of his half-god, half-witch heritage released, and he fears he might destroy the very land he&’s just saved. He believes his only hope for salvation lies with his three best friends and a mystical artifact known as the Moon Pearl; other forces are at work in Orkney's shadows, however—forces that could help free Sam, or condemn him to the darkness forever. Finally, in The Raven God, an army of red giants gather in the Eighth Realm of Musspell, determined to destroy Orkney—and it&’s all Sam&’s fault. After all, he took Odin&’s life with an ancient cursed dagger, and now mankind has lost its protector. Once again, it&’s up to Sam and his friends to prove that they can find the courage to do what&’s needed when the odds are stacked against them, and the sacrifice asked is greater than any of them could imagine. Fast-paced and spell-binding, the Legends of Orkney trilogy is a magical adventure not to be missed.

Leicester City: The Inside Story of England's Most Unlikely Champions

by Gordon Taylor Harry Harris Richard Bevan

The Immortals is the fairy-tale account of Leicester City, who rose from the very bottom of the English Premier League-the world’s toughest soccer league-to triumph against all odds (5,000-1) and finish as champions.Ending up in League One (third level) for the first time in 2008-09, the team stormed through the season to win the league and was promoted back up to the League Championship (second league). After four seasons as a middle-of-the-pack team, Leicester won the league in 2013-14, being promoted to the EPL for the first time in a decade. After a strong start the following season, the team quickly faded and looked to be facing relegation. But after winning seven out of their last nine games, they avoided the demotion and finished in fourteenth place.Under the calm and wise management of Claudio Ranieri-who was named as manager to start the 2015-16 season-the East Midlands club stunned football supporters by winning despite not having a recognizable superstar on the team. With massive team spirit and a never-say-die attitude, the team kept Tottenham, Arsenal, and Manchester City at bay to secure their first ever Premier League trophy in their 132-year history. In the process, journeyman players such as Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante, and Kasper Schmeichel became household names and added to the team’s growing lore.Written by legendary soccer writer Harry Harris, with seventy-six books to his name, The Immortals is a must-read for all fans of the sport, as well as those who adopted Leicester City and the Foxes during their dramatic run.

She has one deadbeat dad, one young cancer-riddled protégé, and two friends, the school tramp and a depressed poetFiguring the numbers are against her, Lemon just can't be bothered trying to fit in. She spurns fashion, television, and even the mall. She reads Mary Wollstonecraft and gets pissed off that Jane Eyre is such a wimp. Meanwhile, the adults in her life are all mired in self-centredness, and the other kids are getting high, beating each other up in parks, and trying to outsex one another. High school is misery, a trial run for an unhappy adulthood of bloated waistlines, bad sex, contradictions, and inequities, and nothing guidance counsellor Blecher can say will convince Lemon otherwise. But making the choice to opt out of sex and violence and cancer and disappointment doesn't mean that these things don't find you. It will be up to Lemon if she can survive them with her usual cavalier aplomb.'Bitingly funny ... Theodore, at thirteen, can be bossy and mean, and the others find ways to rebel against him. Eight-year-old Hubert can bring forth amazing nuggets of insight, and five-year-old Edie is always scrambling to keep up with the others and ready to tattle to Nurse or Father. Leo y Robert 00:00. Libro 3 (Leo y Robert #Volumen 3)

by Reginah George

Leo (21:31): Hoy, a medianoche.

Aunque a veces tire demasiado.

by Jen Minkman
